Guru Geri in Cuba

In April 2012 I drove for 7 days to a CIEC conference "Urban Agriculture" in Havana and St. Clara. The country suffers from the US embargo, especially since the end of the Soviet Empire. People need to know how to help each other, organic farming is very important (there is a lack of spray and fertilizer) and cars, houses and roads are only poorly repaired. The motorways - six lanes - are used by cyclists. Trucks serve as buses and the former sugar cane baron houses of the capital city are in ruins. Horse-drawn carriages, rickshaws (self-built) determine the transport. There is a lot of partying.
